Thanksgiving Wrap-up and Players of the Week (11/25/16)…

Catholic Memorial outscored BC High 41 to 27 behind three touchdown passes from QB Matt Marcantano and solid defensive play by LB Jack McGowan (who also added a rushing touchdown). Taunton ran away with a victory over Coyle and Cassidy behind five rushing touchdowns from Breven Walker. Malden beat Medford with five touchdowns from QB Jared Martino. QB EJ Perry tied the single season touchdown mark with seven touchdowns as Andover trounced North Andover. Ethan McCullough had three rushing touchdowns as Lincoln Sudbury trounced Newton South. Walpole scored 45 points as senior Ferry Armend scored four touchdowns and beat Weymouth. In Everett’s return to Thanksgiving play they beat Masconomet 35 -24 3 passing touchdowns from QB Jordan McAfee. Braintree out ran Milton 30-22 behind two rushing touchdowns from RB Drew Caruso. Wellesley was led by LB/RB Grant Chryssicas who rushed for four touchdowns as the Raiders beat Needham 34-14. Newton North blanked Brookline behind two rushing touchdowns from QB John Grady. Durfee beat New Bedford 32-26  with a late touchdown by Nick Salmon. Central Catholic beat Lawrence 32-6 with QB Brett Edwards throwing three touchdowns in the process. Westford beat Acton-Boxboro behind three combind Conor Degenhardt touchdowns 30-28. Bridgewater-Raynham beat rival Brockton 15-13 with both touchdowns from Devante Greaves. Scituate beat Hingham 48-24 with three touchdowns by Andrew Blanchard. Stoneham beat Reading 28-13 with Tre Pignome contributing to the win with two touchdowns. Mansfield beat Foxboro 35-14 behind three rushing touchdowns from Brian Lynch. Billerica beat 52-14 over Chelmsford with four combined touchdowns from Zac Burns. Woburn beat Winchester 22-21 with Tyler Hayden doing all the scoring for the Tanners. Lynn Classical beat Lynn English 21-20 with Marcus Rivera adding two touchdowns for Classical. North Quincy beat Quincy 13-6 with two rushing touchdowns by Liam O’Connor. Marshfield blanked Duxbury 53-0 as the Rams’ seniors went 4-0 versus the Dragons during their high school careers. Revere beat Winthrop 14-7 behind two touchdowns by Anthony Destefano. Beverly blanked Salem with two touchdowns from Sam Abate. Tewksbury got to ten wins on the year with a victory over Wilmington with Jay Connolly icing the game with a late touchdown. Stoughton routed Canton 48-0 with Izor Swaine-Price going for two touchdowns. Concord-Carsile beat Bedford 46-28 with Sam Randle with five touchdowns. Dartmouth Beat Fairhaven 43-0 in an impressive defensive showing. Whitman-hanson beat Abington 29-28 behind Ethan Phelps’ three touchdowns. Holliston got revenge on Westwood 46-12 with three touchdowns from senior QB Jack Barrett. Medfield beat Dover-Sherborn 28-19 with Henry Mitchell’s scoring. Somerset-Berkley beat Case 22-12 with Nathaniel Holt adding two touchdowns. Melrose beat Wakefield 28-8 with three touchdowns from RB Mike Pedrini. North Reading beat Lynnfield 21-20 with Bob O’Donnell adding two field goals. Hanover beat Norwell 21-3 with three receiving touchdowns from WR Jeff Wheeler. Shawsheen beat Greater Lowell 21-2 with two touchdowns from Craig Rich. Triton topped Pentucket with Liam Spillane adding four touchdowns. Seekonk beat Dighton-Rehoboth 34-28 with Terry Smith adding two touchdowns. Old Rochester beat Apponequet 28-21 with Harry Smith having three scores. St. Mary’s beat Bishop Fenwick 22-13 with two receiving touchdowns coming from WR Calvin Johnson. Boston Latin beat English 34-20 with Shaquille Wharwood playing a big role. Northeast beat Essex Tech 46-22. Brighton beat Latin Academy 28-20 with RB Kevin Brown going for three rushing touchdowns. Mystic Valley closed out Minuteman with QB Peronert Charles having four passing touchdowns. O’Bryant beat West Roxbury 28-8 behind solid play from QB Emmanuel Exilhomme.

ITHMA Players of the Week:

QB Matt Marcantano had four passing touchdowns for Catholic Memorial ending his career with a win over BC High.

RB Breven Walker had 5 rushing touchdowns as Taunton cruised past Coyle-Cassidy.

QB EJ Perry threw for seven touchdowns as the Boston College commit tied fellow Eagle Troy Flutie’s single season record.

RB Sam Randle of Concord-Carlisle had six touchdowns and led CC to a victory over Bedford.

RB Kevin Brown of Brighton helped the Tigers reach the double digit win total as he ran for three touchdowns.

Xaverian Defense/Special Teams held St. John’s Prep to zero points from their offense and also forced a miss on an extra point and a late 20 yard field goal to give the Hawks the Catholic Conference Championship with a 7-6 win.
