MIAA Top 25 Hockey Poll – Week 6 (1/24/17)…

  1. Pope Francis High School: (10-1-1) – Despite the close 2-1 loss to Arlington the Cardinals have an extremely strong resume and Zac Roncarati has been one of the best goalies in the state this year.
  2. Malden Catholic High School: (4-1-3) – Kyle Casey and Brian Cannata have both been solid in net for the Lancers.
  3. Walpole High School: (13-0-0) – James Corcoran has continued his success in net and is proving to be a truly elite goaltender.
  4. Austin Preparatory School: (9-0-2) – Dylan Regan, Louis Finocchiaro and the rest of the Cougars still haven’t lost a game this season.
  5. Hingham High School: (9-1-2) – Wins over St. Mary’s (Lynn) and Reading are two very nice resume building wins and they now face a top fifteen clash coming up on Saturday versus Andover.
  6. Catholic Memorial High School: (7-1-1) – Harry Morrill and Jackson Dobek have the Knights playing at a very high level.
  7. Boston College High School: (7-1-3) – Jamie Sexton and Luke Garrity have played well for the Eagles against a tough schedule.
  8. Arlington High School: (9-1-1) – Peter Scheschareg did what he does best scoring a goal with less than a minute to go as Arlington beat the top ranked Cardinals of Pope Francis. This was a signature win for the Spy Ponders and should help them in Super 8 deliberations. 
  9. Central Catholic High School: (6-2-3) – Eric Lester and Thomas Manty have been very productive so far for the Raiders.
  10. Marshfield High School: (9-1-1) – Nick Young and Nevan Costello have been a dynamic duo in between the pipes for the Rams.
  11. Andover High School: (10-2-0) – Caeden Dillman, Michael Reilly and the rest of the Warriors are one of the hottest teams in the state riding a seven game win streak.
  12. Xaverian Brothers High School: (5-4-2) – Cam Dutra and the Hawks are capable of stealing a game against any team they play.
  13. Braintree High School: (8-2-1) –  Shawn Leslie and the Wamps skated to a competitive 1-1 tie against a very solid Weymouth Wildcat team.
  14. Saint Mary’s Lynn High School: (7-4-0) – The Spartans dropped a closely contested game to Austin Prep but look to get back to their winning ways against Archbishop Williams and Matignon.
  15. Arlington Catholic High School: (5-3-1) – Jack Bertolami and the Cougars fell to an out of state team but rebounded with a good win over Bishop Fenwick.
  16. Saint John’s Preparatory School: (3-5-2) – Kyle Hentosh and Brian Carrabes look to turn things around versus Xaverian on Wednesday.
  17.  Shrewsbury High School: (11-0-0) – The Pioneers defeated Algonquin and top forward Matt Ward recently crossed 100 points scored for his career.
  18. Scituate High School: (11-1-0) –  Cam Francis and the Sailors have a showdown with Hanover on Saturday.
  19. North Reading High School: (9-0-1) –  The Hornets suffered their first blemish of the season against a feisty Newburyport team.
  20. Burlington High School: (6-3-1) – It could be a make or break part of the schedule for the Red Devils as they face Belmont and Arlington later this week.
  21. Belmont High School: (6-2-3) – Kevin Dacey was spectacular in holding on to a 1-1 tie with Reading.
  22. Reading High School: (5-5-1) – The Rockets have played a rigorous schedule but with the talent they have they could be a very dangerous team when they break out.
  23. Framingham High School: (6-3-2) – The Flyers are currently on a five game point streak and look to challenge third ranked Walpole on their home ice.
  24. Weymouth High School: (4-3-2) – Weymouth has been a battle tested team and skated with Braintree to a 1-1 defensive tie.
  25. Franklin High School: (7-4-0) – The defending D1 State champs dropped a couple of games but look to get back on track this week.
