Kalel Mullings (Class of 2020) of Milton Academy Talks With ITHMA (2/8/17)…

Incoming Alabama freshman linebacker Dylan Moses of Louisiana surprised the nation a few years back when he received a scholarship offer from LSU at the age of 14 years old. More locally, Kalel Mullings just turned fourteen years old and is a freshman at Milton Academy where he has exploded on to the national recruiting scene having recently received scholarship offers from both Michigan and Boston College. A humble teenager who likes to play Madden and listen to Drake, Mullings chose to attend Milton Academy (MA) over other ISL schools because of its academic reputation, the fact that he already knew friends there, it was close to home and he felt comfortable with Coach MacDonald and the MA football program. ITHMA previously profiled Mullings as one of our top Class of 2020 Massachusetts prospects back on December 26th of 2016. On Friday January 20th (at 14 years and three months of age) Michigan Coach Don Brown offered Mullings a scholarship and asked that he schedule a visit to the Michigan campus. The out of state Michigan offer got the attention of Boston College as their staff followed with an offer three days later on Monday January 23rd. Mullings already stands 6’2″ and 200 pounds and is a top linebacker and running back at Milton Academy but was intrigued when he had the opportunity to compete as a wide receiver at the New England Elite Camp last summer where he held his own against top competition. Also an excellent student in the classroom, Mullings has received an invitation to the Stanford University Junior Day later this spring as he will aim to graduate from a top college and then attend a top law school. Should he receive an offer from Stanford he would be the first high school freshman to receive such an honor from that school and we would not be surprised to see this happen given his academic and athletic talents. Prior to college Mullings aims to be a five star recruit and to be selected for the US Army All-American Team after his senior season. Given he was recently named to the Freshman All-American team the sky is the limit for this young man. Mullings is another example of a top student-athlete from Massachusetts who will represent the state very well at the national level a few years down the road and he has a very bright future ahead of him.
