ISL Football Rankings – Week 2 (9/25/17)…

It was a great first week of ISL football with a number of top ranked teams dominating on the field and an instant classic as Milton Academy hung on to defeat St. Sebastian’s in overtime. Here are our updated rankings and week two of ISL play features some very good games which will all be played on Friday:

  1. Lawrence Academy – (1-0) – The top ranked Spartans beat the defending ISL champions BB&N 38-17 with a number of skilled playmakers contributing. Josh Arruda ran for two touchdowns while newcomers Spencer AronsonTony Muse and Justin Barron all found their way into the end zone for Lawrence Academy. Next up: (4) Noble and Greenough.
  2. Belmont Hill School – (1-0) – Running back Jaylen Bailey and wide receiver Jake Bobo led the way on offense as Belmont Hill prevailed in a 35-0 shutout of Roxbury Latin. Next up: (9) BB&N.
  3. Milton Academy – (1-0) – Linebacker Kalel Mullings had an interception return for a touchdown and Milton Academy hung on to win in overtime by a score of 21-19 over St. Sebastian’s. Next up: (5) Governor’s Academy.
  4. Noble and Greenough School – (1-0) – Running back Jason Medeiros rushed for three touchdowns as Nobles defeated Rivers by a score of 34-0. Next up: (1) Lawrence Academy.
  5. Governor’s Academy – (1-0) – Governor’s defense kept the Brooks’ offense in check with a surprising 23-7 upset victory. Electrifying all-purpose running back Quin Stott led the way on offense with a touchdown. Next up: (3) Milton Academy.
  6. St. Sebastian’s School – (0-1) – Even without Northwestern bound linebacker Bryce Gallagher St. Sebastian’s gave Milton Academy all they could handle in a very tough overtime loss. Next up: (8) Tabor Academy.
  7. Brooks School  – (0-1) – Surprisingly the very talented Brooks’ offense couldn’t figure out the Governor’s Academy defense in their 23-7 loss. Next up: (10) Groton School.
  8. Tabor Academy – (1-0) – Running back Angel Santiago and the Tabor offense started the season hot in their 32-14 win over St. Mark’s. Next up: (6) St. Sebastian’s School.
  9. Buckingham Browne & Nichols School – (0-1) – A tough opening loss to top ranked Lawrence Academy and now BB&N gets second ranked Belmont Hill. Next up: (2) Belmont Hill.
  10. Groton School – (1-0) – Noah Aaron made plays all over the field on offense, defense and special teams as Groton dominated in a 34-0 win over St. George’s school to open their ISL season. Next up: (7) Brooks School.
