Mass High School Football – Week 4 Poll and Notes (9/28/17)…

Very interesting weekend of football coming up with many of the games being played tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

  1. Everett High School (3-0) – The good news for the competition is that there are probably more than ten seniors who will graduate from this Everett team and go on to play college football.
  2. BC High (3-0) – Beat a pretty good Hudson Catholic team down in New Jersey last week and now will play at Brockton this week.
  3. St. John’s Shrewsbury (3-0) – The Pioneers play a very good Wachusett Regional team this week before a showdown with Shrewsbury High School next week.
  4. Central Catholic High School (3-0) – The Central Catholic offense continues to produce but their defense gave up a lot of points against Methuen and now face an always tough Billerica team.
  5. Marshfield High School (2-1) – Marshfield dominated against a solid Falmouth team and they will now play Nauset Regional this week.
  6. Lexington High School (3-0) – Maybe the most fun team to watch in the state this year as their offense is just loaded with playmakers.
  7. Xaverian Brothers High School (1-2) – Hard to slide the Hawks down too far given their losses came to the top ranked team in Massachusetts and the top ranked team in New York.
  8. Bridgewater-Raynham High School (2-1) – Bryce Shaw stepped it up on offense to help B-R rebound from a tough loss at Xaverian Brothers.
  9. St. John’s Prep (1-2) – Another team with two losses but both were to top five ranked teams.
  10. Mashpee High School (3-0) – A mid October game against Nantucket is looming as this was the Falcons only loss last season.
  11. King Philip High School (3-0) – Maybe the best game of the week tonight as Mansfield travels to KP in a Hockomock League showdown.
  12. Marblehead High School (3-0) – The Magicians appear to be a team determined to make it back to the Super Bowl this season.
  13. Mansfield High School (3-0) – Managed a win against Franklin and the Hornets now get a shot to take down the defending Super Bowl champions as they travel to play King Philip tonight.
  14. Duxbury High School (2-1) – Replaced a lot of talent from last year’s Super Bowl championship team but it looks like things are coming together and their defensive play has been terrific.
  15. Falmouth High School (2-1) – The Clippers ran into a hot Marshfield team that not too many public programs can play with this season.
  16. North Attleboro High School (2-1) – Still have Foxboro and Stoughton coming up on their October schedule.
  17. Natick High School (3-0) – A big win over Milton has Natick looking very good at this point in the season.
  18. Andover High School (2-1) – Similar to Duxbury, Andover replaced a lot of key skill positions and things appear to be headed in the right direction.
  19. Lincoln-Sudbury High School (3-0) –  A team that is scoring a lot of points in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
  20. North Andover High School (3-0) – Looking back at our poll from last week we sort of saw that their upset win over Tewksbury was a possibility.
  21. Foxboro High School (2-1) – A scrappy team with an excellent defense and solid wins over Hingham and Stoughton.
  22. Reading High School (2-1) – A tough loss to Lexington but a lot of teams are going to be saying that this season.
  23. Tewksbury High School (2-1) – Not too surprised with their loss to North Andover as their first two wins were both close games.
  24. Dennis-Yarmouth High School (3-0) – Back to back games in October against Falmouth and Marshfield will be a big test for a very solid D-Y team.
  25. Stoughton High School (2-1) – A tough loss to Foxboro as multiple turnovers doomed the Black Knights.
