ISL Football Rankings – Week 3 (10/2/17)…

The second week of ISL play brought more upsets which now sets up a meeting between the first and second ranked teams in this week’s ISL rankings as Lawrence Academy will go on the road to play Governor’s Academy.

  1. Lawrence Academy – (2-0) – Another very impressive win for the talented Spartans who now travel to second ranked Governor’s Academy for a huge game this Saturday afternoon. Next up: (2) Governor’s Academy.
  2. Governor’s Academy – (2-0) – Governor’s climbs to second in the rankings following back to back wins over Brooks and Milton Academy. Their upcoming game against Lawrence Academy should be a very good indicator of who is the best team in the ISL this year. Next up: (1) Lawrence Academy.
  3. Buckingham Browne & Nichols – (1-1) – An impressive 21-0 road win over Belmont Hill shows BB&N can compete against the top teams in the league. Next up: (6) St. Sebastian’s.
  4. Belmont Hill – (1-1) – Ran into a tough and aggressive BB&N defense that was able to shut down their usually high powered offense. Next up: (9) Tabor Academy.
  5. Milton Academy – (1-1) – Lost to a Governor’s team that can score points in a hurry as Governor’s led 26-0 at halftime and hung on for a 34-28 victory. Next up: Roxbury Latin.
  6. St. Sebastian’s – (1-1) – Bounced back from their overtime loss to Milton Academy by beating Tabor 48-18. Next up: (3) BB&N.
  7. Noble and Greenough School – (1-1) – Couldn’t match up against top ranked Lawrence Academy. Next up: (10) Groton School.
  8. Brooks School – (1-1) – Led Groton 7-3 at the half and added two more scores for a 28-3 victory. Next up: St. George’s.
  9. Tabor Academy – (1-1) – Tabor’s defense couldn’t slow down a high powered St. Sebastian’s offense. Next up: (4) Belmont Hill.
  10. Groton School – (1-1) – Groton was competitive against a good Brooks team but ultimately lost 28-3. Next up: (7) Noble and Greenough School.
